If you checked out last week’s post, you know there is some exciting news here at Compost Collective! We are partnering with The Resilient Activist to offer you terracycling until Dec 31st!
TerraCycle is a company that works to recycle, reuse, or upcycle normally hard-to-recycle products that normally end up in landfills. Terracycle has many different programs, so be sure to look into them and find out about other hard-to-recycle solutions to your waste. To find out more about what happens to the waste that is sent to TerraCycle, click here!
For this current program with The Resilient Activist and Heartland Honey we will be collecting Toms of Maine and Gillette products to send to Terracycle, and we are making it as easy as possible for you!
Here are the items that are available for terracycling:
Toms of Maine items:
- mouthwash bottles and caps
- toothbrushes
- deodorant containers and caps
- soap packaging
- floss containers
- toothpaste tubes and caps
Gillette items:
- blades and razors (systems and disposable units, and replaceable-blade cartridge units)
- rigid plastic packaging
- flexible plastic bag packaging.
Ways to send in your recyclable items:
- If you are signed up for our curbside compost program, set out your used personal care + shaving products next to your compost bucket on collection days. (Please make sure all excess product is removed/cleaned).
- Drop off your recycling at our bin swap booth at Kansas City’s Brookside Farmers Market, 6321 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64131 on Saturdays from 8 am – 1 pm.
- Heartland Honey will collect your waste at the Overland Park Farmers’ Market from 7:30 – 1:00 on Wednesdays and Saturdays until the season ends. Be sure to check the location of the market as it changes due to COVID-19 requirements.
